Germany Signs On for CAVS Project

What is CAVS?

The Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) is an ambitious international collaboration between Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and now Germany. The project aims to develop a family of armored vehicles that can be used by all participating countries. The goal is to create a more cost-effective and efficient way to develop and procure armored vehicles.

Germany's Role

Germany has now officially joined the CAVS program by signing its Technical Arrangement. This means that Germany will be fully involved in the research and development of the CAVS vehicles. Germany is also expected to contribute financially to the program.

Looking Ahead

The CAVS program is expected to be completed in the early 2030s. Once completed, the participating countries will have access to a new generation of armored vehicles that are designed to meet the challenges of modern warfare. The CAVS program is a significant step forward in European defense cooperation and it is expected to have a positive impact on the security of all participating countries.
