Manchester City Take Control of Champions League Tie with Emphatic Win
Haaland Seals City's Place in Semifinals
Erling Haaland atoned for a first-half penalty miss by scoring a crucial goal as Manchester City drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final, securing a 4-1 aggregate win and a place in the semifinals.
In the first leg, City had earned a comfortable 3-0 advantage at the Etihad Stadium, and they maintained their dominance in the return fixture at the Allianz Arena.
Rodri opened the scoring for City in the 11th minute with a trademark long-range strike, curling the ball into the top corner from outside the box.
Bayern Munich equalized in the 63rd minute through Jamal Musiala, raising hopes of a comeback. However, Haaland's 84th-minute header extinguished those hopes and wrapped up the victory for City.
The result means that City will take a commanding advantage into the semifinals, where they will face either Real Madrid or Liverpool.
